Abstract

Ahmed Bashir's novel "Dil Bhatkey Ga" is an important biographical documentary novel in Urdu. This novel is his life story which starts from the first decade of the twentieth century and extends to the era of General Zia. Ahmed Bashir wrote his life. He has not only described the successes and failures, but has presented a complete document of his commitment. Jamal, the main character of the novel, goes to his native village Noor pur after thirty years, then the scenes of the past come to his eyes one by one. The events described in this biographical documentary novel are neither completely true nor completely fiction, but it is a beautiful combination of fact and fiction. The author has narrated all the stages, accidents and events of his life with great clarity. This creation of the early decade of the 21st century is an important pillar of the Urdu biographical documentary novel tradition. The novel has all the trappings of a biographical documentary tradition.
